Charging c168i ...

Postby Denis » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:27 am

Can someone tell me what barrel plug I need to connect phone to charge circuitry?
I think the 0.70mm ID, 2.35mm OD are the dimensions but I'm not sure.
DigiKey or Mouser part number would be great.

Also, do I need to worry about charge controller or its embedded in the phone and 5VDC will do?

You need the plug you cut off the charger.
Seriously, that is the easiest way. Get a spare charger off ebay or dig through the cables bin at a thrift store if you want one.

Through the charge plug, you just apply 5 volts and it works.

Thanks Mike! I think I'm gonna do what you suggested. I can get a phone AND a charger for like 5 dollars of ebay.
Do you know what current goes into the phone when it is charging?
I can measure it as soon as get a hold of the power plug, but if you or anyone else has this info already, it would be nice to know.

The charging current is 60mA. Just in case anyone else needs to know this.
